First Day Of Cloth Diapering!

And it's going well! The baby is loving how they feel. The only issue I've had so far was trying to get her to hold still so I could pin them. So, I bought velcro to sew on when I get the chance. And until then, I'm pinning them first and then slipping them on her. I went with inexpensive prefolds and rubber covers to start with just to see how it goes. So, they don't look like anything fancy but they're getting the job done. It's a little too soon to tell if they will really help the rash issue long term, but so far in just half a day it does look better. So yay for that!

I've found some great resources to help me on this adventure. I've joined some cloth diapering groups on CafeMom and Facebook. And my aunt has given me some great advice! I've started looking around at fancier covers and inserts as well and there are a few that look really promising. I'm excited about this much to my surprise. And my baby seems much more comfortable and that's what's most important.

  1. I didn't think I would like cloth diapers either. I babysat a little girl and she had them. It was nice because her mom and gotten a variety pack to see what she liked. I of course found my favorite brand and ordered them for my kids. My son is potty trained now, but my daughter is still in the cloth diapers. They have lasted for almost 2 years now. I'm pretty impressed. (We use the bum genius one size fits all.) I have not done prefolds, but do know a lot of mommies that do use them and like them.
